Make resolutions that are more about how you want to be – how you want to relate to the world – than about specific changes in behavior. They should be spiritual goals. Changes in behavior don’t last unless preceded by a change in consciousness. New Years Resolutions, to be effective, must be about changing our consciousness to be receptive to our desires.
Let your resolutions take the form of affirmations. That way you can say them or sing them or chant them to yourself, have fun with them, and remind yourself of the energy you are stepping in to.
One of my resolutions is the same as last year: to know that “I have multiple sources of passive income that support me lavishly.” This one is in wonderful unfoldment. I developed a product this year that is doing better than I expected and I have a lot of ideas to create in the future. I’m even hiring a virtual assistant to help me. This is so much fun! My work this year is to appreciate what I have while expecting more to come.
My second affirmation is that “I consciously, constantly practice the presence of Spirit within me.” This one is huge. It encompasses just about every spiritual goal I have and it influences every part of my life and my behavior. It says I am always aware that Spirit is my Source – so there can be no lack or limitation. It says that Spirit is always present and acting in my life – kind of like having an imaginary friend, except its not imaginary – more like an invisible friend beside me (or in me) at all times. It says I am always allowing Spirit to express thru me – so I am non-judgmental. I speak kindly – even when aggravated. It causes me to allow my good to flow to me – to keep the channel open for the flow of love and energy and inspiration and comfort. This affirmation keeps me healthy because where Spirit is there is only vitality, ease and health.
A few years ago one of my resolutions was to more often find thoughts that feel good and do more things that I enjoy. This year my affirmation is to “Love myself”. Similar, but broader this year. As I love myself I bring to me all things that are loving. That means bubble baths, and fresh flowers; satellite radio and laughter; friends who brighten my light not diminish me; and it means appreciating myself, encouraging myself, and saying kind words to me. The only relationship we really want is between self and SELF. And that self love is the key to allowing. Self love leads to feeling deserving which leads to more allowing. Self love also lets us feel a little bit of the vast and endless love that Spirit has for us. I want a taste of that this coming year!

A key step to personal development is having the courage to take action regardless of fear. No doubt there are real dangers in life that should be avoided, but courageous people rely on common sense and logic to protect them realizing that fear will not. Courage is a quality that is often overlooked in our hectic daily lives, but it can have an overwhelming effect on our relationships and personal growth. If allowed to fester, fear and lack of courage can prevent even the hardest working individual from carrying out the tasks presented to them. Fear can hold almost everyone back.
Denying your fears creates a vicious cycle that will cause you to have these nagging tendencies to be non-confrontational. Your personal development will come to a standstill. To resolve this behavior one needs to summon their courage and confront that inner voice that is telling you to avoid conflict. Once you have conquered your fears you can move on to recognizing your values. Knowing your values will give you tremendous clarity and focus to help you make wise and consistent decisions. Learn how to not waste time as you can always fix your mistakes but you can never redo yesterday.
Making a list of what you want out of life will in many ways give you a personal development inventory wish list. Ask yourself what is meaningful to you in your life today and what areas do you want change and improve. Get in touch with your passions and desires. Stop allowing other people dictate your future for you. Make your own choices and don't have any regrets about them. Examine the list of things you want most out of life with the attitude that you know who you really are. Being honest with yourself, answer your questions and act on them.
For just a moment think about your judging mind. Personal development can be enriched by examining how we judge people. Research has shown that how we judge a person reflects very strongly on us! If we have a strong reaction to a person we probably have the same thing in us. Our judgments of others act like a mirror that casts a reflection of us. Our judgments affect our personal growth in a manner that is subtle yet profound. Think for example a friend of yours who judges people as either rich or poor. They don't see the true person and what they are.

If everything is energy, that means YOU are energy - and you must take care of the foundation that is resonsible for creating your world your world.
Here you go... the Top 10 Ways To Honor Yourself
1. Trust your intuition. A biggie. Trusting yourself implicitly...your hunches, gut feelings, your higher power...is one of the best ways to honor yourself. Think of a time that you totally trusted your intuition. Nothing more honoring.
2. Live your truth! Be true to you... it's about living your truth and no one elses. Are you willing to be honest with yourself, even if it hurts? Are you willing to make your life a reflection of that?
3. Permission. Where would you like to give yourself permission in your life? To heal, ask for what you need, forgive yourself or another? Love yourself - completely?
4. Create space. Where could you use a little space these days? Your office? Need some quiet time? Space in your heart for you... Create space so the good stuff can flow into your life a bit easier. Give yourself space to grow...this is so honoring.
5. Choose to have people in your life who honor YOU.
